Sunny With a Chance of Porcupines

Living in southern Alberta, the weather can be quite unpredictable. So far this summer, we've been thrown floods, tornado warnings, and hailstorms (which reminds us that we have a lot more posts to come!) But this shoot has to rank as our hottest so far- topping out at 41 C with little shade to be found! Yeouch! This shoot required a few breaks to let the kids cool down so they didn't melt!

This shoot was very special in that it commemorates Mr. and Mrs. Burton's 35th Wedding Anniversary! Congratulations you two lovebirds!!

What proud grandparents! :)

Thanks, Burton family for braving the heat so we could snap some pictures! The kids especially did well for taking pictures in an oven! What a beautiful family!

The kids found a porcupine in the park!

Hope you enjoyed our pictures! (From the comfort of your house and not the scorching heat! :) Feel free to comment and treat yourself to a popsicle or slurpee!

Best Buds

One of the added bonuses of taking pictures of kids is that we get to incorporate another love and have some in-depth conversations with children about a common love- candy. For instance, what's your favourite type of candy? What's your favourite colour lollipop? (And the always popular-if you make it through these pictures alive, you can have some candy- in this case lollipops!...)

Of course the other option for the occasional “I am never going to smile for that camera because that would be cruel and unusual torture” type of kids is to nicely ask the Mom to either jump wildly up and down and wave their arms behind us or make goofy faces that only the kids can see (at least that’s what the mom thinks!) How we would love to capture the mom’s behind the scenes as they pull their crazy faces for the kids... We’ll put that on our list of must-take pictures- watch out moms!

Needless to say these two boys were such troopers...despite a face plant in the train track rocks these two kept on smiling! (P.S. they're going to be heart-throbs one day! Look at those beautiful eyes!!) They were such a delight to photograph and we really enjoyed the shoot! Check out the results, and feel free to comment!
